After Reading…

When I put down this book

I realized unknowingly that

I wandered lonely in the snowy caves of the Himalayas

I also realized that

My fingers are wet with the red blood

That flowed on the pathways of my dream city Mumbai.

Snow and blood speak to me in the same language now.

When I put this book down

I realized that me and you

Put an end to endless conversation.

Now you know the hidden chambers of my family

As you know my hearts of hearts.

Now you know the darkness of my mind

As you know its sunshine too.

Light and darkness speak to me in the same language now.

When I put down this book

I realized that I roamed around your thin alleys and deep valleys

I remember you flying a colorful kite

Over the skies of your half-meal s childhood.

I dream your dreams

As your mother used to

As your only sister used to.

Dream and reality speak to me in the same language now.

When I put down this book

I came to know that I sneaked into your deep tribal forests

Ancients struggling their last battle

With a few survivals at the end of the day.

I’ve seen your mother and sisters

 Walking straight into the Sun

Unveiling their bright faces.

City and forest speak to me in the same language now.

No secrets now

Now hidden labyrinths now

I feel your running blood

I feel your restless breath

We speak the same language

We share the same sky

Now your part of earth

Is a quilt

That shares my dreams too.

Blood and earth speak to me in the same language now!

Let’s dream a world

No lines, no partitions, no blood

No empty stomachs

And no empty skies.

  1. Pardon my foolishness in asking this question –
i know with the mistory gone, the poem might look simple…..but it is irresistable – or did i misunderstand it completely…. –

which book? does it talk abt births accross the country at the same time…..dawn when its still dark?

  2. Thankyou. It’s beautiful.
